Previous Board Members

Ken Ryder

Brad Barnes – Brad has been a business development professional his entire career. Brad’s expertise is helping entrepreneurs develop and fulfill their passions. He has started a fair share of companies over the years and feels he adds value by “connecting dots,” and he happens to have more dots than most people. This comes from the fact that he’s always had a passion for people and networking, which has allowed him to develop vast personal and professional networks across multiple industries such as technology, toxic mold prevention, magazine publishing and social media. Usually at the forefront of technology, Brad has developed his career as a thought provoker and start-up grunt. He started selling Super-Mini computers for Data General Corp in the early 80’s. DG was the first company to develop a full-screen portable computer called the DG-One. From there he was a part of the high-growth technology era where he helped launch and market the first commercially available spreadsheet called Lotus 1-2-3. As the spreadsheet became widely adopted in the financial markets, importing clean data became a major challenge. Brad was part of a spin off from Lotus named Desktop Data, which was the first company to put mass volumes of data on CD ROM’s. In those days, music was the only content distributed on CD’s, which put an end to the era of 8-Track tapes. In the early 2000’s, Brad veered from the world of technology and co-founded a company called American Moldguard. AMG utilized a technology that Dow Corning developed in the 70’s known as an antimicrobial. The product proved to prevent the spread of toxic mold and became a must have product in the construction of single and multi-family homes nationally. Today, Brad finds himself consulting for several technology companies that are looking to capitalize on the mass scale of social media. Brad resides in Laguna Beach, CA and has two grown boys Bradley II (21) and Weston (19). Brad keeps extremely active with his wife, Stephanie and her two boys, Baron (10) and Stone (7).
